Went to Dawn's hse for Christmas lunch, had lots of fun with the kids. She then sent us to the airport! Left Singapore for HK, reached around 10pm. We took a cab from the hongkong station to robinson road where Laura (Ian’s sister) lives.
The weather is sooooo cold.. haha.. 17 degrees.. its like air con.. but outside.
Knocked out at Laura’s house.

us at dawn's house!

26 Dec 06 (Tuesday)
Boxing Day in HK, a public holiday.
Went to Dumpling Yuan for brunch, serves really good and BIG dumplings..
Tried wheat gluton cold for the first time.
We went to town to change Laura’s nike shoes in return for money, looks like only HK has the return money policy. Ha
Den went to IFC mall to have coffee on this really nice rooftop garden that overlooks the sea..
Had a nice day with Ian and Laura in HMV buying DVDs and VCDs.. there was a SALE.. mega one.. prices could go as low as 20HKD which coverts to S$4.. cool right? We spent like so much of our time in the store, till Laura went home first. Haha.
Next up, its Prince Edward station.. just walking around the streets we came upon an Esprit outlet, it was just like a warehouse sale! Everything was going at really low prices.. bought a top at 29HKD (S$6).. what a bargain! then we walked down to Ladies Market and had so much fun walking around all the shops.. just like the last time we went. Had dinner at this place with good beef soups.. yumyum!

dinner at those roadside shops. baby at Prince Edward Station. the many watches we bought!27 Dec 06 (Wednesday)
as usual, woke up late, had brunch at Krispy Kreme.. yum! We took a bus no. 10 to pacific place, and that was our First time tooo.. felt a little sua ku la..Met up with Henry, Ian’s colleague frm NYP at Pacific Place (Admiralty), a really nice guy. He was back in HK for the hols too! He brought us around many places, and for the FIRST time we took the ferry from Hongkong Island to the other side!! So fun! And it was so exciting.. and fast. And of cois, cheaper than taking the MTR. Everything is paid with the octopus card, the gantry is the same as if we were taking the MTR.. just tap and go! The view was really nice! We went to the DFS shops to look at stuff, but it was all really EXPENSIVE! After that, we took the ferry back to the central pier, and walked to Queen’s Pier cos we were taking another ferry to Lama Island to eat the all too famous seafood. The pier had scribbles of protests from people who didn’t want the govt to destroy the pier to make way for other stuff.. so cool! The ferry had two floors and on the top, it was opened!!! The ride was long.. like 45 mins,. But the sensation of the wind and the view along the edge of the islands were amazing! It was so cold.. temps were probably 13 degrees or something.. and of all times I was wearing a skirt.. and 3 layers of shirts.. haha.. Food at Rainbow restaurant was all toooooo yummmyyyy… but expensive.. oh well.. it’s a really orgasmic experience!! Ate till we nearly burst! we took a ferry back.. and a bus from central to the mid-levels, so convenient!

28 Dec 06 (Thursday)
wanted to wake up early but nooooo… we didn’t again! Ate frying pan for brunch.. its this place that serves realllllyyyy gooooooooooood American breakfast 24 hrs a day.. such marvelous food! The plan was to go to The Chinese University of HongKong to visit and meet up with Henry, he used to be a lecturer there, and he was having a meeting with the directors to have a collaboration with NYP. So.. we took the MTR to Tsim Sha Shui, and walked to the KCR line to change to another train to the university. They actually had a stop that says University. So cool right? The KCR train is like those old trains that runs from Singapore to Malaysia.. but the inside is just like the normal MTR.. hhaa..
upon reaching the stop itself.. we realized how HUGE the school is.. there is probably like 7 campuses.. each taking A LOT of space.. and we din know where to meet Henry.. and we don’t want to end up somewhere really ulu.. If u thought NUS or NTU was huge, Singaporeans might just die here.. cos everything is on slopes.. EVERYTHING!! And so we walked and walked.. and then there was this NICE BIG pond.. or rather lake.. so beautiful, it was serene and quiet, its like a vast difference from the busy bustle life in the city. The air was fresh, not polluted.. you could hear birds chirping and the wind gushing against the trees.. there were trees and flowers everywhere, it was just awesome!
Waited for Henry for such a long time becos he waited at the wrong library for us.. there were too many libraries I guess. Lucky he drove, cos the life sciences building was right on top of the hill!!!!!! If we were to walk, it might have taken a few hrs man.. went into the school and looked around the labs and all. There were some that I couldn’t go in.. cos it was a sterile thing.. but those I went into looked just like the science labs we have in secondary school, but messier and much much bigger. Half the time in the labs, sscience terms were mentioned that seriously sounded greek to me.. hahaha. There was even an animal holding unit.. and guess what! There are sooooooo many white FAT rats inside many cages… just waiting to be cut up and killed. So poor thing. no wonder I am not in the Science field.. I would nv have been able to take it.
Then after all that… we went to the Adidas outlet sales… oh my goodness.. the stuff were sooooo cheap… bought two t-shirts for 75HKD each.. hee.. shopping makes a girl very very happy! J
We went to the famous Man Mo Temple to look look see see.. this is like my 2nd time stepping into one. The first being in pri sch.. some excursion I had to go for. It was really beautiful, the architectural structure was so traditional and historical all at the same time. Just beautiful!
Henry then drove us up to Stanley Market.. he has Initial D driving man! We had to go up the mountain.. and it was all winding roads.. but he is good man.. he went through all the bends and turns like it was nothing.. with the Subaru car that he had,, it feels like sitting in my brother’s old car.. haha. But the passenger seat at the back was so comfortable, I fell asleep halfway.. haha.
Stanley was so nice! There was the beach, that was so blue.. but it was soooo freaking cold.. I nearly froze there. We then walked up the streets, past many pubs and bars for the ang mos.. and came to the old museum.. that was shifted there frm the central. Its those historical sites now. There was even those old pillars that were standing at the old site.. took photos there too! The mkt on the other hand didn’t have much stuff, its just a lot of stuff to bluff the tourists.. and it closes really early.. like at 6pm.. haha.]
After that, we took the bus back to causeway bay.. and we stumbled upon a really good claypot rice shop.. it was so good! Walked around to the many shops.. and bought more stuff.. ha

at Man Mo Temple. Stanley Market!29 Dec 06 (Friday)
ate dumplings again for breakfast. You might be wondering why we were early today… becos we were going to OCEAN PARK!!!! Hee.. so exciting la.. took bus 629 to Ocean Park itself. Everyone on the bus were chattering and sounded excited but guess what, we fell asleep. I realized that as long as I am sitting in a motion vehicle, I will fall asleep, hahaha
anw.. Ocean Park is wow.. huge. Took the escalator to the Headland! The view from the top, is breathtaking.. you can see the mountains, the seas and all the rides there are!! We had fun with most of the rides, like the Space wheel and the Mine Train (its like a mini roller coaster!), went into the gallery to watch seals.. took a cable car from the headland to the lowland.. and went into the Kids World to ride the merry go round! And also had a ball of laughter at Whiskers’ Theatre , it’s a 3D motion ride! So fun!! Took many many photos!! And ate many many nonsense!!
Left and took the same bus back to Admiralty.. den we went to the other side.. to Temple St.. where more markets are.. its like having bugis village everywhere! We ate more nonsense.. so yummy. And of cos, very very unhealthy. I really got to go to the gym when I get back.

at Ocean Park!!
merry-g0-round!
30 Dec 06 (Saturday)
had brunch or rather yum cha with Laura and her bf, David at Victoria near the ferry terminal. OMG.. the queue was sooo long.. and the dimsum was soooooooooooooooooo delicious!!! Yumyumyumyumyumyum!!
Next was TST with ian, while laura and david went somewhere else.. we walked around.. went to HMV to find the love actually vcd, but couldn’t find it, but I bought another one for 20HKD.. haha. Den we went to another Esprit outlet that was much bigger than the last one that we went into.. bought a shirt for lynn’s baby.. and kids socks for keanan, and sharon’s boys. Heee.. so cheap and soooo very cute! J we had dinner at this Chinese place with not bad rice sets.. (:
Took the ferry back to central and went into Wellcome to buy ONE apple. Not enough fruits in our diet.. haha.. I think wellcome belongs to cold storage.. cos it holds cold storage’s house brands.. haha
31 Dec 06 (Sunday)
It’s New Year’s Eve!!!
Woke up early and cabbed off to Garden Road where St Joseph Church was.. the queue to get in for mass was so damn long, it was as if ppl queued from amk to cck.. haha.. too drama.. if u thought ppl were mad to queue for THE ROCK in suntec.. this was a much longer one then. The sermon by the Fr there was interesting, it was very interactive! And there were soooo many Filipinos!! Its like the whole country was there..
Went out to pacific place to watch Casino Royale.. all the movies are like 2/3 weeks late here. But its so expensive, the cheapest ticket here is 40HKD which is the most expensive one in sg.. and we still complain so much. haha However, the movie was realy good, and they have chocolate popcorn here, very addictive. Haha. James Bond was rather stupid though.. haha.
After that, both couples went their separate ways again, plan was just to meet back home at 7pm for dinner. We went to HongKong Records, again, it’s a vcd/dvd shop. Haha. And again, we couldn’t find Love Actually, the person said that it was sold out.. and new stock would come in early Jan. by then, we would be home in sg. Ha. But there were lots of stuff.. I even saw Style and Lime magazine from sg.. haha, and its so overpriced here!
Decided to cook dinner, or rather ian will cook, and I will try to help.. haha and it turned out quite good! I helped to cut the ham and scooped the pasta.. so amazing right? I even washed the dishes! Haha.. we had dessert too.. toasted almonds ice-cream with timtam! How chocolicious!
Then we got ready to go down to The Fringe Club near Lam Kwai Fong for a private party that Laura’s friend booked. Its in the old arts building.. so cool, cover charge for girls were 190HKD and for boys 380HKD.. and its an open bar, so u can drink and eat till u are crazily drunk! The layout was small but they had a small dance floor, and by 11 plus, we were all rather high.. and it could only get higher after 12am! Drank a lot of different stuff – beer, vodka coke, vodka orange, and shots of pure vodka…danced a little and had lots of laughs looking at other people.. haha.. took some pictures..
Den we left, for another club, apparently only for members.. but someone was a member and so we got in! this club was equally small but by then, we were high.. and its really a don’t care situation. There were more drinks of champagne, down one glass very fast.. haha.. a little tipsy and all but still rather sober. Went back around 3am.. cos ian wanted to puke… hahha. I brought him home though we had to walk cos the roads were closed.. and cabs were all taken. So after climbing the escalators for 15 mins.. we got ourselves home. Safe though there were little hiccups along the way. haha
Thinking abt it, it is my first time clubbing with ian.. and the first time I actually feel a little high drinking so much.. haha.. but its weird I know.. angele doesn’t go clubbing, but I guess there are exceptions!
dessert! :)
at The Fringe Club1 Jan 07 (Monday)
It’s the year 2007!!!!
Had brunch at Flying Pan, I had fluffy pancakes and ian(((: had French toast and Laura treated us to it! J
After that, we took bus no. 6 to Repulse Bay.. it was so nice. How nice to end off our trip with a ride to the beach.. the beach was soooo therapeutic, we even watched the sunset! So romantic, sitting on the beach with ian((: watching the sunset, feeling the breeze.. this is how life should be. J
I want a house near the beach next time when I get older!!
Came home after that, and lazed around. Watched more tv.. and ian made dinner.. raisin bread with bacon/ham and cheese!! Yumyum!
Its like role reversal here.. I have a bf who can cook and give good massages.. how lucky I am! (:
Repulse Bay - nice weather, beautiful waters and a wonderful partner! :)
2 Jan 07 (Tuesday)
It’s the second day of the new year!!!
Woke up superbly early as we have a plane to catch cos we are flying home! Home to hot and wet weather, home to calm moving traffic, less polluted air, and nicer smiling people. Haha. But I will seriously miss the nice cooling weather here.. there are only two seasons in Singapore – hot and very hot. :/
Took a cab to Exchange Square Three with Laura and Ian.. the airport express station was right beside it. We could check in first, and then take our time to the train to the airport. So we went to eat McDonalds after that.. they don’t have Milo!! Only got Iced milk tea (nai cha) and iced coffee. They don’t have hashbrown in the meal for the hotcakes.. so weird right.. hhaa..
Left IFC mall at 8am.. took the train to the airport.. and realized we were going to be quite late.. had to reach 20 mins early before the flight – 9.10am.. meaning we shld be there by 8.50am.. BUT the queue at the immigration check-in was so long AND we had to take an internal train to our gate cos its too far off! Let me tell you, NEVER ever wear slippers when u are rushing for the plane.. running was so difficult!!! We saw the man carrying the sign for CX717.. and he was like telling us.. “you better run, or they will close the gate. You two are the last passengers!” haha.. how often have u been told u are the last passenger. Ran for the gate.. right on time 9.10am.. haha.. I was like panting and the crew near the counter was laughing.. I also felt like laughing. Cant imagine if we were to miss our plane!
McDonalds. In the plane.
all in all, I really enjoyed myself in HK with baby. Its really a much needed break from work and school for the both of us. Time away from others and time away from reality. The time spent exploring HK, time spent having heart-to-heart talks with each other, hugs and kisses, experiencing many firsts together and just being with each other are priceless – things that money just cannot buy. I hope with this trip, we will actually grow stronger than before. (:
